Our 1/4" color CCD dome camera with smoked housing can be mounted on the ceiling and offers unobtrusive surveillance with its'' black housing. It has be rotated at 360 degrees for maximum viewing selection. It features a 1. 0 lux with 420 line resolution and a 3. 6mm wide angle lens with built-in electronic shutter. A 12V DC power supply is included. The Pro Video CVC-645DC Color Dome Camera is an unobtrusive, reliable and economical solution for most basic remote monitoring needs. Designed to provide a high-resolution picture from an ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic, smoke-colored dome housing, the Pro Video CVC-645DC works very well in low-light conditions, and can rotate 360 degrees and tilt plus-or-minus 90 degrees. 25-inch color CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor with a 3. 6-millimeter wide-angle lens, and provides 512-by-492 effective pixels. The CVC-645DC has a high resolution of 420 horizontal TVL (TV lines), is very sensitive to light with a minimum illumination of one Lux, and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 48 dB or better. The Pro Video CVC-645DC uses the NTSC color TV scanning system, and includes a standard RCA video output with a BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) adapter. This unit runs on 12-volts DC power, and can operate in temperatures ranging from 14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. The CVC-645DC comes complete with a built-in automatic electronic shutter with speeds ranging from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second. Users should note that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources. About Surveillance Camera Technical Features Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient. About Dome Cameras A dome camera is one of the most common indoor security camera styles. Mounted on the ceiling, and often designed to be tamper resistant, dome cameras are designed to be visually appealing and more secure than other types of security cameras. A true dome camera enables a continuous 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt operation, providing for extensive room coverage. One disadvantage of dome cameras is that they usually are not suitable for low-light conditions and must be used in well-lit areas.
