Review Orion 20mm Ultrascopic, 1.25" Eyepiece / ORION:

The Ultrascopic eyepiece series offers unsurpassed image fidelity. Rather than having a single layer of magnesium fluoride on most lens elements, Ultrascopics are Ultra Multi-Coated, meaning that every air-to-glass lens surface is vacuum coated with multiple antireflective layers. There is no higher level of multi-coating. These coatings, coupled with a low-reflection barrel with blackened lens edges, improves both brightness and contrast of faint nebulas and galaxies. These premium 1. 25" eyepieces employ 5- or 7-elements using high-refractive-index glass. Each produces a wide 52-degree apparent field of view (49-degree for the 35mm). Internally threaded for filters.

Review Coronado Cemax 12mm Solar Observing Eyepiece / Coronado:

The CEMAX (Contrast Enhanced) series eyepieces, specially designed and coated for optimizing H-Alpha viewing. These Eyepieces are not HA filters and for solar observing they must be used in conjunction with a safe solar filter. In the construction of Solar filters and associated instrumentation, Coronado takes enormous care to optimize contrast by minimizing the number of components and designing them so that they do not result in creating residual reflections and spurious light near the image. Until now, the only component not included in this overall approach was the eyepiece. Now the CEMAX SERIES fills this need. Specifically designed for use at H-Alpha and Multi coated on every surface (including cemented surfaces), the CEMAX eyepieces are the ultimate in contrast enhancement for the Solar observer. Please Note: We are only authorized to sell Coronado Products in North America.
