Review Orion EZ Finder II Reflex Sight / ORION:

The EZ Finder is a simple, but efficient point-where-you-want-to-go device for finding celestial objects. It superimposes a tiny, LED-powered red dot at infinity on the sky. When aligned with your telescope's field of view, the dot shows you exactly where your telescope is pointed. It's easier than a standard finder scope because what you see through the EZ Finder is a nonmagnified, naked-eye view of the sky that is correctly oriented, not upside down. The brightness of the dot, which is centered in a 10-degree field of view, can be adjusted to suit your preference. Thumbwheels allow positioning of the dot horizontally and vertically for precise alignment with the main telescope. EZ Finder comes with a bracket that fits the quick-release dovetail mounting on many Orion telescopes. (For installation on other telescopes, the bracket can be purchased separately. Runs on a 3-volt lithium battery (included). One-year limited warranty.

Review Orion 9x50 Illuminated Finder Scope (no bracket) / ORION:

The crosshairs in standard finder scopes are difficult to see in the dark, which makes centering an object something of a guessing game. Well, we saw the light, and we now offer finder scopes with illuminated crosshairs. An adjustable-intensity red LED in the illuminator arm lights an etched-glass double crosshair reticle, making it as easy as target practice to center your viewing or photo subject or guide star. Centering an object precisely on the finder scope's crosshairs will ensure that it appears in your main scope's eyepiece or on your camera's CCD chip, exactly where you want it.

The easiest way to aim a telescope. The view seen through the window of the Telrad is continuos with the sky around it, not magnifed or upside down. Three rings are lighted and appear to lie among the stars. The small ring outlines the Moon-sized area seen in the telescope. the large outer ring outlines the area seen in a standard Finderscope. To point your telescope, just look through the Telrad and move the telescope until the rings are centered on the object. The Telrad is 8 inches long. weighs 11 ounces and mounts on any telescope without drilling any holes. it unlocks from it's base for separate storage. requires 2 AA batteries (not included).
