Review Kaiser Digishield, Folding 3" LCD Hood for Digital Cameras with Touch Screen Compatability / Kaiser 6075:

Kaiser Fototechnik has further developed its flexible digiShield glare shield for digital camera LCDs with a model for the 3" LCDs that are more popular today. Kaiser did not just settle for adding a larger version to the existing ones, but has also taken into account that touch screenLCDs should be easy to access. The digiShield glare shield fits most of the standard digital cameras with 3" LCDs. It is mounted via an adapter plate to the camera's tripod thread - no glue or rubber bands to disfigure the camera body. For proper positioning the glare shield can be moved along guide rails on the adapter plate. Three different adapters are supplied with the glare shield thus making sure that it mounts to almost any digital compact. The Kaiser digiShield shields against lateral and angular light rays using two side shields and a top shield. To store the unit mounted on the camera, theysimply fold down flat and serve to protect the LCD screen without adding too much bulk. Two safety catches hold the shields in this position and a coil spring support moves them to the opened position when unlocked. More and more camera settings are operated on a touch screen, especially on larger LCDs, that take up a large portion of the space on the camera's back. [+]
Using a touch screen with a digiShield mounted to camera would be rather difficult. The designers found a clever solution for this problem: the complete glare shield flips up by releasing a lock.
