[+]
The four cameras that come with the Philips VS8394/14T are Philips VC7C1305Ts that utilize 0. 25-inch color CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensors with three-millimeter fixed lenses. The VC71305Ts achieve a resolution of 320 horizontal TVL (TV lines) with 510 by 492 effective pixels using the NTSC system. These units can receive a picture at a minimum illumination of two Lux, and use four-pole RJ11E connections for single-cable transmission of video, audio, power and communication. The VC7C1305T cameras feature automatic gain control, white balance and backlight compensation, as well as electronic shutters with speeds ranging from 1/50 to 1/100,000 of a second. These cameras also feature video motion detection (with selectable area and sensitivity), automatic cable-length compensation and an adjustable field of view. The VC7C1305Ts have built-in Electret microphones for audio out, run on 24-volts DC power, and have operating temperature-ranges of -10 to 45 degrees Celsius. Technical Features: Camera lenses: 3 mm fixed-focus Image sensor: 0. 25-inch color CCD Resolution: monitor 290 TVL in NTSC, cameras 320 TVL with 510 x 492 pixels Operating temperature: -10 to 45 degrees Celsius for cameras; 5 to 45 degrees Celsius for monitor Monitor dimensions: 19. 2 x 18. 9 x 17. 4 inches (W x D x H) Camera dimensions: 2. 9 x 2. 6 x 2. 8 inches (W x D x H) Designed primarily for indoor use, the Philips VS8394/14T offers you everything you need in a security surveillance system. This system is intended for use with a professional security recorder, such as a time-lapse VCR or a DVR, in order to take advantage of its recording functionality. The maximum distance cameras can be from the monitor is 600 feet regularly, or 900 feet with the addition of an interface box. Users should note that the CCD image sensors in the cameras may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the cameras should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources. About Surveillance Camera Technical Features Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
