Review Celestron Astro Solar Filter for Celestron Omni XLT 150mm, 6", Newtonian Reflector Telescope / Celestron:

Celestron Solar Filters are made with Baader Astro Solar Safety Film. Far superior than any existing glass, Mylar or polymer filters, they lead to brighter, sharper, and higher contrast images. Enter the millennium with the finest solar filters available. Astro Solar Safety Film is clear and homogenous and attains the optical performance of high quality plane-parallel glass filters-it is diffraction limited! Double-sided metal coatings have uniform density and good color balance across the entire field ensuring razor sharp images from edge to edge. The Sun appears in its "real "color -neutral white, not blue or orange ,and the sky adjacent to the solar limb is jet black. You can see detail in sunspots, bright faculae near the limb and the mottled areas known as granules with these filters. The Sun offers constant changes and will keep your observing interesting and fun. Even small aperture telescopes can enjoy features of the Sun. The Astro Solar film is completely safe and durable (won't break like glass if dropped). Its rating is ND-5 which means that the film transmits 1/100,000 of visible light (. [+]
001%) while reflecting (blocking) 99. 999%of unwanted light. The film absorbs all ultraviolet rays while coating reflects infrared light rendering both absolutely harmless. For added assurance, Baader Astro Solar film has been declared safe for direct solar viewing by the German National Bureau of Standards for eye safety. Celestron has previousl.

Review Meade 07210 45 Degree Erecting Prism #932 / Meade 932:

#932 45° Erecting Prism: If the ETX-90EC is to be used for extensive terrestrial applications, the #932 45° Erecting Prism is a useful accessory. Images through the 90° eyepiece-holder appear right-side-up, but reversed left-for-right. The #932 Prism threads on to the telescope's photo port and presents a correctly oriented image as well as a convenient 45° observing angle. An eyepiece of any focal length (magnifying power) may be inserted into the #932 Prism. Note that the flip-mirror control must be in the "down" position for use with the #932 Prism.

Review Tele Vue Barlow Lens, 2x, 2" (Big Barlow) with Brass Clamp Rings. / Tele Vue BWC2200:

Properly designed Barlows do wonderful things. First, they amplify power while retaining the eyepiece's eye-relief. Second, they slow the telescope's f/#, which improves eyepiece sharpness. Third, the designer can introduce compensations for eyepiece aberrations. Tele Vue's 2" 2x BIG Barlow, 1 1/4" 2x and 3x Barlows were envisioned as magnification windows. Multi-coated high index glasses assure optimum aberration correction, exceptional contrast and virtually no light loss. Tele Vue Barlows achieve their design goals even when tested by the fastest scopes. They even improve our competitor's eyepieces and telescopes! For eyeglass wearers, the Big Barlow is perfect for doubling the power while retaining the eye-relief of 2" Tele Vue eyepieces such as the 55mm Plossl, 35mm and 27mm Panoptics (requires use of Panoptics Barlow Interface) and 20mm Nagler Type 2. Our design approach includes mechanical conveniences. The Barlows are parfocal with our eyepieces and the BIG Barlow includes a parfocal 2" - 1 1/4" adapter. [+]
The BIG Barlow is threaded for 48mm filters and has a captive lock-screw. Both 1 1/4" Barlows are threaded for 1 1/4" filters. Barlows do more than just increase magnification; they also retain eye relief (or in the case of long focal length eyepieces, actually INCREASE eye relief). A high quality Barlow must be properly designed and manufactured in order to avoid compromising a telescope's color correction and spherical aberration corr.

  • For amazing contrast on faint planetary and emission nebulae from a dark sight..
  • Model: Lumicon 48mm UHC Ultra-High Contrast narrow bandpass filter for 48mm

Review Lumicon 48mm UHC Ultra-High Contrast narrow bandpass filter for 48mm / Lumicon:

The Original Lumicon Ultra-High Contrast narrow bandpass filter (24nm) isolates just the two doubly-ionized oxygen lines (496 and 501nm lines) and H-Beta line (486nm) emitted by emission and planetary nebulae, while blocking the rest of the overall spectrum of light. The result is extreme contrast between the black background and the delicate photons of nebula light needed for near-photographic views of the Orion, Lagoon, Swan and planetary nebulae, among others. This makes the Lumicon UHC Filter the best all-around nebular filter on the market today. See for yourself - it's truly amazing what the Lumicon UHC filter allows you to see! Lumicon tests every filter individually on a Perkin-Elmer Double Beam spectrophotometer, inscribing on the filter its % transmission for each of the primary lines.

Review Meade Series 4000 f/6.3 Focal Reducer/Field Flattener (4-element/41mm dia.) for CCD, Photographic, & Visual Applications. / Meade 07049:

Series 4000 f/6. 3 Focal Reducer/Field Flattener: An important advancement in high-resolution focal reduction systems, the Meade 4-element, multi-coated f/6. 3 Focal Reducer threads on to the rear cell of any Meade LX-Series mirror Focal lens telescope or to other Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope brands (followed by the Off-Axis Guider, shown, or T-Adapter) and reduces the telescope's focal ratio by a factor of 0. 63: e. g. , f/10 telescopes are converted to f/6. 3. Simultaneously, the 41mm-diameter lens system helps to flatten the field, significantly improving edge-of-field corrections. The f/6. 3 Focal Reducer enables a reduction of photographic exposure times by about 50%, while producing an actual field diameter of 1. [+]
