Review Orion Epic 14mm ED-2 Eyepiece / ORION:

Enjoy comfortably long eye relief, a wide 55-degree apparent field of view, and fully multi-coated, 6-element optics that include two elements crafted from special ED glass. "ED" stands for "extra-low dispersion," optical glass that boasts superior refractive properties compared to standard optical glass. The result is 20mm eye relief for every focal length, reduced chromatic aberration, and excellent image sharpness. Even the short-focal-length Epics sport nice, wide eye lenses, not small peep-holes! The series is parfocal, so little or no refocusing is needed when switching from one Epic eyepiece to another. Each eyepiece comes with two end caps and a durable plastic tube case. Barrel diameter, 1. 25". Threaded for filters.

Review Tele Vue 2" Everbrite Mirror Star (90°) Diagonal with Brass Clamp Ring -Black Satin Finish / Tele Vue:

Whiter and brighter images. Simply put, that is the benefit the Everbrite mirror coating. This exotic, dielectric, nonmetallic coating is 99% reflective across the full visual spectrum, resulting in the "whitest," most natural image available. The coating is painstakingly applied to Pyrex with a surface accuracy of a 1/10 wave flatness. The Everbrite is offered in both 1¼" and 2" models. The diagonal bodies of each are machined from solid blocks of aluminum. In this way we can insure permanent alignment. The one piece body construction also assures heavy accessories can't force the diagonal body to "unscrew" from the barrel as with other brands. Both the 1¼" and 2" models feature brass clamp rings, anti-reflection threads and 1¼" and 48mm filter threads respectively.

  • Model: Tele Vue 11mm Plossl 1.25" Eyepiece.

Review Tele Vue 11mm Plossl 1.25" Eyepiece. / Tele Vue EAP110:

Since we introduced our Plossls in 1980, they have won praise and patents, including a patent in Japan. TeleVue Plossls, designed by Al Nagler, have been a recognized benchmark of performance and value in the class of 50 degree apparent field of view eyepieces. While the Plossls may be our least expensive eyepiece line, they still enjoy the same care and attentioin to detail as our most expensive. While it's easy for other manufacturers to vie for the lowest price, TeleVue continues to believe that quality, performance and consistency will ultimately reward you with the most value for your dollar. Diffraction limited "on-axis" performance is a given. Using more expensive high-index glasses to reduce astigmatism and lateral color at the field's edge, TeleVue Plossls deliver sharper images than any other brand of 4 or 5 element "Plossl" or Orthoscopic designs. The faster the focal ratio of your telescope, the greater your visual reward for using TeleVue eyepieces. TeleVue Plossls feature full multi-coatings for greatest light transmission and contrast. Blackened lens edges and internal anti-reflection threads tweak the last bit of contrast for maximum image detail. The sharper field focuses faint star light into perceptible points and allows those with undriven mounts to gaze longer before repositioning the image.

Review Tele Vue Adapter for Questar 1.25". / Tele Vue AQE0005:

Allows you to use 1. 25" eyepieces on Questar scopes. Unleash the potential of your Questar. Just add this adapter to use any of the Tele Vue 1 1/4" eyepieces: Plossls, Radians, Panoptics, and Naglers!Experience a greater range of magnification, quick-change capability, and parfocalization (no need to adjust focus when changing eye pieces). Discover improved resolution, color correction and contrast due to the multicoating, blackened lens edges, and new designs. The threaded eyepiece barrels accept Nebular and other filters, if desired. And, with fields of view up to 82 degrees, diffraction limited anywhere in the field, your Questar 3 1/2 finally delivers the magnificent capability inherent in its design and construction. Overall, we recommend the Nagler 9mm and Panoptic 19mm. This finely crafted piece is CNC machined out of solid aluminum stock to complement the Questar. Its polished aluminum base has blackened anti-reflection threads on the inside aperture to improve contrast. [+]
A black anodized knurled focusing ring allows focusing to the Questar viewfinder optics, and a lock screw (with 2 locations for convenience) gives extra security.
Tele Vue PMT2200
Tele Vue PMT2200
Weight: 1.4 pounds
List Price: $375.00
Price: $295.00
Key features Tele Vue PMT2200
  • High performance for image amplification, CCD or film (some of the finest Earth-based planetary imaging is being done with Powermates).
  • Vignetting, edge field aberrations and pupil movement - all introduced when using Barlows with long focal length eyepieces, are minimized.
  • Flexible for visual and imaging with all types of telescopes and eyepieces. Essentially Parfocal, and with nearly constant magnification regardless of image distance behind top surface (except 5x model which increases 1x for every 35mm of image distance increase).
  • Telecentric operation (field rays leave parallel to optical axis, unlike Barlow lenses which diverge rays). This is ideal for Hydrogen-alpha filter use such as with Daystar models.
  • Higher magnifications are possible with high optical performance compared to "doubling up" Barlows.
  • Model: Tele Vue 2x Powermate, 2" Image Amplifier

Review Tele Vue 2x Powermate, 2" Image Amplifier / Tele Vue PMT2200:

This model is nearly parfocal (unlike the Big Barlow / Interface combination), so it can be effectively used in our 2" diagonals. Its performance is excellent with every 1¼" or 2" eyepiece we make (yes, even the 31 Nagler Type 5!). Both the 2" eyepiece holder and the special 2"-1¼" low-profile adapter use brass clamp rings for secure, non-marring operation. And it also has a very unique feature: you can unscrew the 2" eyepiece housing and screw on a special T-ring adapter for solid, compact attachment of CCD or camera equipment.

  • Model: Orion 6.3mm HighLight Plossl 1.25" Eyepiece

Review Orion 6.3mm HighLight Plossl 1.25" Eyepiece / ORION:

Orion HighLight Plossls is our exclusive, premium line of 1. 25" Plossl eyepieces with some noteworthy enhancements. HighLight eyepieces offer a generous 52-degree field of view (43-degree for the 40mm) and crisp, sharp images. The HighLights' 4-element optics are fully multi-coated - every air-to-glass lens surface is multi-layer coated for the highest possible light transmission and better contrast. The lens edges are blackened for additional contrast enhancement. The machined aluminum housings of the HighLight Plossls sport a distinctive anodized finish, with grip traction knurled right into the metal. Supple rubber eyeguards shield out extraneous light and fold down for eyeglass wearers. The barrels of HighLight Plossls are precision-machined to a tolerance of +/- 0. 05mm from the nominal specification, so you can be sure of a great fit in your diagonal or focuser. And of course they are internally threaded to accept filters.

Key features ORION
  • Electronic dew elimination system keeps dew from forming on the corrector lens
  • Plugs into a car cigarette light or a field battery (sold separately)
  • Fits all Meade and Celestron 11" Schmidt-Cassegrains
  • Runs on 12-volt DC power
  • Model: Orion Dew Zapper for 11" Schmidt-Cassegrain

Review Orion Dew Zapper for 11" Schmidt-Cassegrain / ORION:

With Dew Zapper, you'll never have to stop observing to remove condensation from the front plate of your Schmidt-Cassegrain or Maksutov-Cassegrain. An unprotected corrector lens will radiate heat, quickly cooling to below ambient air temperature, allowing dew to form. Dew Zapper gently replaces lost heat, bringing the temperature of the corrector lens back above the dew point. Dew can't form, and you never get "heat wave" disturbances like those caused by warm-air blowers and heated dew caps. The flexible, fiberglass-reinforced heating element straps securely in place with a Velcro fastener. Runs on 12-volt DC power. Plugs into a car cigarette-lighter receptacle or a "field battery," delivering up to 20 watts, 2 amps. All models include a 10' cable.

Review Tele Vue 18mm Radian 1.25" Wide Angle Eyepiece with 60 Degree Field of View & Long Eye Relief. / Tele Vue ERD180:

By limiting the field to 60 deg. (a Radian = 57. 3 deg. ) and establishing a uniform 20mm eye-relief, Tele Vue reworked the Nagler concept using the latest glass types to achieve optimum full field sharpness, freedom from distortion, freedom from ghosting (for critical planetary viewing) along with a unique adjustable eyeguard assembly which Tele Vue calls "Instadjust" Instadjust was developed from the need for proper eye position for non-eyeglass wearers. It is essential, since with Radian's long eye-relief, non-eyeglass wearers would easily tend to get too close to the eyepiece, resulting in vignetting the field, just as you would moving out from the exit pupil. The click-stop, Instadjust eyeguard permits fast, accurate positioning of the eye to the exit-pupil with maximum suppression of environmental stray light. Instadjust is topped off by a soft (for comfort and eyeglass protection) fold-down rubber eyeguard and protective cap. Usual Tele Vue features such as full multicoating, blackened lens edges, parfocalization, and grip-ring complement the Radian line.

Both models now feature brass clamp ring for secure, no-mar locking.
