Review Orion 25mm Ultrascopic, 1.25" Eyepiece / ORION:

The Ultrascopic eyepiece series offers unsurpassed image fidelity. Rather than having a single layer of magnesium fluoride on most lens elements, Ultrascopics are Ultra Multi-Coated, meaning that every air-to-glass lens surface is vacuum coated with multiple antireflective layers. There is no higher level of multi-coating. These coatings, coupled with a low-reflection barrel with blackened lens edges, improves both brightness and contrast of faint nebulas and galaxies. These premium 1. 25" eyepieces employ 5- or 7-elements using high-refractive-index glass. Each produces a wide 52-degree apparent field of view (49-degree for the 35mm). Internally threaded for filters.

  • Model: Orion V-Block Anti-Fringing Filter, 2"

Review Orion V-Block Anti-Fringing Filter, 2" / ORION:

With refractors, it's normal to see some purple fringing or halos around bright objects such as the planets, Moon, and bright stars. Such false color, or chromatic aberration, results from the inability of a standard two-element ("achromatic") lens assembly to focus all wavelengths of light to a single point. The effect is particularly pronounced at higher powers. But if you are the type that thinks halos look better on angels than on astronomical objects, then our V-Block filter is for you. It effectively removes the distracting color halos from around bright objects, greatly improving image sharpness, color, contrast, and resolution.

Review Tele Vue Eyepiece Caddy Set. / Tele Vue TEC1018:

These sleek little brackets attach with thumb screws, to the yoke arms of all Tele Vue mount heads, keeping your eyepieces safely and conveniently at your fingertips. The set holds three 1¼" and two 2" eyepieces. The 2" holes have removeable 1¼" inserts as well. The Eyepiece Caddy Set is highly recommended for all our mounts. The Panoramic and Gibraltar accesory trays are great, but they don't hold your eyepieces securely, like a Caddy, if your tripod gets bumped in the night! And once you experience the convenience of having a Caddy, bending to reach for an eyepiece will seem like a big inconvenience! The Tele-Pod does not offer a place to hold eyepieces. so the handy caddies will be a truly welcomed addition. The Caddy brackets are made of 3/8" thick aluminium and are powder coated for extra durability.

Review Tele Vue Barlow Lens, 2x, 2" (Big Barlow) with Brass Clamp Rings. / Tele Vue BWC2200:

Properly designed Barlows do wonderful things. First, they amplify power while retaining the eyepiece's eye-relief. Second, they slow the telescope's f/#, which improves eyepiece sharpness. Third, the designer can introduce compensations for eyepiece aberrations. Tele Vue's 2" 2x BIG Barlow, 1 1/4" 2x and 3x Barlows were envisioned as magnification windows. Multi-coated high index glasses assure optimum aberration correction, exceptional contrast and virtually no light loss. Tele Vue Barlows achieve their design goals even when tested by the fastest scopes. They even improve our competitor's eyepieces and telescopes! For eyeglass wearers, the Big Barlow is perfect for doubling the power while retaining the eye-relief of 2" Tele Vue eyepieces such as the 55mm Plossl, 35mm and 27mm Panoptics (requires use of Panoptics Barlow Interface) and 20mm Nagler Type 2. Our design approach includes mechanical conveniences. The Barlows are parfocal with our eyepieces and the BIG Barlow includes a parfocal 2" - 1 1/4" adapter. [+]
The BIG Barlow is threaded for 48mm filters and has a captive lock-screw. Both 1 1/4" Barlows are threaded for 1 1/4" filters. Barlows do more than just increase magnification; they also retain eye relief (or in the case of long focal length eyepieces, actually INCREASE eye relief). A high quality Barlow must be properly designed and manufactured in order to avoid compromising a telescope's color correction and spherical aberration corr.

Review Celestron 94169 10mm Plossl Reticle Eyepiece (1.25 ") / Celestron 94169:

Guiding (or reticle) eyepieces are mandatory for guided astrophotography. They keep a guide star stationary during long exposures to avoid star trailing. This 5-element guiding eyepiece has a reticle pattern that is a. 0075" double spaced line system. The optics are multicoated for increased contrast and have long eyerelief. The high power is ideal for guiding and it has a 50° apparent field of view. This type of reticle pattern allows you to position the guide star in the middle square or at the intersection of two lines, whichever is easier for you. An optional illuminator is required.
