  • Model: Tele Vue 2" Everbrite Mirror Star (90°) Diagonal with Brass Clamp Ring - Short Front Tube.

Review Tele Vue 2" Everbrite Mirror Star (90°) Diagonal with Brass Clamp Ring - Short Front Tube. / Tele Vue:

This Version utilizes the same construction as the 2" Everbrite Diagonal #DPC-2002, except for the shorter front. This new "short front" Diagonal was designed to allow more "through fork" motion when used with the new ACS-0004 Short tube Schmidt Cassgrain Adapter. This Digonal can also be usedin any other 2" Diagonal application as well. However the Standard 2" Everbrite Diagonal (DPC-2002) provides increased locking stability in non SCT applications Important notes for users of f/6. 3 SCT Reducers 1) The ACS-0004 & DPS-2004 combination may also be used with f/6. 3 SCT focal reducers, permitting larger fields of view with 2" eyepieces. However, the additional physical length of the f/6. 3 reducer means the ACS-0004 & DPS-2004 combination will no longer pass through the fork arms of some SCT's 2) With the extra path length of the 2" Diagonal, the f/6. 3 converter will actually produce an f/5. 5 system. [+]
This combination works well with the Tele Vue 27mm Panoptic, yielding a 1. 5 ° true field of view with a C-8. Note that longer focal length 2" eyepieces may vignette severely. Also, some eyepieces (such as 2" Naglers) may not reach focus with this combination due to their shorter path length. 3) When the 2" diagonal is used with 1¼" eyepieces, the Tele Vue 2" Converter Adapter (CEA-2125, Adorama SKU #TVA21QC) should be used to assure that focus is reached.

Review Kendrick SCT Laser Collimator / Kendrick:

Kendrick makes Collimators that can be used with Schmidt Cassegrain, Maksutov Cassegrain and Maksutov Newtonian telescopes. For SCT owners, the 45 degree face gives you a clear view of the collimator from the supplied adaptor. Included in this version is a #2067 SCT Laser adapter which adapts the 2" collimator to a standard SCT visual back. Instructions are included with each unit. SCT collimators have a small gummed label included to mark the face of the collimator. The laser is a class IIIA, 650 nm laser diode of less than 5 milli watts. It is considered safe for consumer use, but you should avoid letting the beam enter your eye, directly or after reflection from a mirror. It is OKAY to look at the scattered light from the red spots where the beam hits the mirrors. The collimators take two AAA batteries (included). There is a one year Kendrick warranty for defects in materials and workmanship on the collimators.

  • Dramatic views of faint nebulae from light polluted and dark skys...
  • Model: Lumicon 48mm Oxygen III narrow bandpass Filter for 48mm

Review Lumicon 48mm Oxygen III narrow bandpass Filter for 48mm / Lumicon:

The renowned, original Lumicon OIII narrow bandpass filter (11nm) isolates just the two doubly-ionized oxygen lines (496 and 501nm lines) emitted by planetary and emission nebulae, while blocking the rest of the overall spectrum of light. The result is extreme contrast between the black background of space and the delicate photons of OIII light needed for near-photographic views of the Veil, Ring, Dumbbell and Orion nebulae, among other objects. See for yourself - it's truly amazing what the OIII filter allows you to see! Lumicon tests every filter individually on a Perkin-Elmer Double-Beam spectrophotometer, inscribing on the filter its % transmission for each of the primary lines. Not intended for photography (use the Lumicon Deep Sky Filter).
