Review Celestron X-CEL Series 1-1/4" 8mm Eyepiece / Celestron:

If you are looking for an eyepiece that excels for planetary viewing, then Celestron's X-Cel offers the unique features you are looking for. A 6-element fully multi-coated optical design, the X-Cel utilizes extra low dispersion (ED) glass on its most highly curved surfaces, to minimize chromatic aberration that can hinder sharp planetary views. With a wide 55° apparent field of view, and a large 25mm clear aperture the X-Cel is one of the most comfortable eyepieces to use. Every X-Cel eyepiece is parfocal with each other, meaning little or no focusing is needed when changing from low to high power. The X-Cel comes with soft rubber eyecups and a durable plastic case. In addition, if you are an eyeglass wearer, you will enjoy the 20mm eye relief available on each of the X-Cel focal lengths. Threaded barrels accept 1-1/4" Celestron thread-in filters.

Review Galileo G102MD 1100 x 102mm Catadioptric Telescope w/Motor Drive / Galileo Visions, Inc G-102MD:

Galileo G-102MD Electronic Catadioptric Telescope is half the telescope with twice the ability. In some cases, shorter is better. This is one of them. The catadioptric feature has a correcting lens built into the optical tube that extends the focal length without the need for an extra-long tube. Another plus. it's mounted on a fully motorized dual axis German equatorial mount. Hey, if it can run on it's own power, it's got my vote. Frees me up to put my energy elsewhere. [+]

Galileo G102MD Electronic Catadioptric Telescope With the Galileo G-102MD catadioptric reflector telescope, you can scan the skies without looking away from your eyepiece, thanks to a hand box control center. The large 102mm primary mirror accepts 28 percent more light for brighter and more visible sky viewing. Catadioptric telescopes have a lens built into the focus housing that extends the focal length of the telescope without having extra long tube. The result is half the telescope with twice the ability. The smaller tube length also helps to have less adjustments be made to the scope when being used by people of different heights. Key features Celestron
  • Improved transmission translates to maximum image brightness and contrast. Users of smaller, 4"-11" telescopes will especially appreciate the high efficiency, and larger scope users will love the rich star fields and detailed subtle nebular shadings that are left intact.
  • The multi-layer dielectric coatings are plasma assisted and Ionbeam hardened using the latest technology for durability and resistance to scratching.
  • The high transmission, sharp cutoffs, and more moderate 60nm passband of the UHC/LPR filter retains a more natural view, yet significantly boosts overall contrast. Imagers will appreciate the broader bandpass and inclusion of an extremely efficient H-Alpha passband (656nm)
  • Model: Celestron 2" UHC / LPR Filter

Review Celestron 2" UHC / LPR Filter / Celestron:

Light Pollution Reduction (LPR) Filters are designed to selectively reduce the transmission of certain wavelengths of light, specifically those produced by artificial light. This includes mercury vapor, and both high and low pressure sodium vapor lights and the unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i. e. sky glow). The new ultra high contrast (UHC) LPR filter has improved contrast over the typical broadband filters. Sky background is darker, and contrast of emission nebulae are noticeably improved. The advanced technology coatings enable the filter to achieve an outstanding transmission of over 97% across the entire bandpass, with total blockage of prominent light pollution lines. The perfect filter for viewing nebula from light polluted skies, or for boosting the contrast of nebula from dark sky sites. In addition to it's optimum spectral and optical characteristics, the UHC/LPR filter offers important features that set it apart and result in the highest quality celestial views:.
