Review Tele Vue Bandmate Mars Type B 1.25" Filter. / Tele Vue:

Traditionally, standard colored filters have been used to bring out detail on the planet's surface. The main drawback is the artificial color imposed on all planetary features. Bandmate Mars Type-B Filters The Bandmate Mars Type-B filter is a high efficiency, single band dielectric coating that achieves penetrating views of the Martian surface. The surface appearance is similar to that of the popular #21 filter. However, the Type-B features a broadband anti-reflection coating on one side and filter coating on the other that makes it far more efficient.

If you are looking for an eyepiece that excels for planetary viewing, then Celestron's X-Cel offers the unique features you are looking for. A 6-element fully multi-coated optical design, the X-Cel utilizes extra low dispersion (ED) glass on its most highly curved surfaces, to minimize chromatic aberration that can hinder sharp planetary views. With a wide 55° apparent field of view, and a large 25mm clear aperture the X-Cel is one of the most comfortable eyepieces to use. Every X-Cel eyepiece is parfocal with each other, meaning little or no focusing is needed when changing from low to high power. The X-Cel comes with soft rubber eyecups and a durable plastic case. In addition, if you are an eyeglass wearer, you will enjoy the 20mm eye relief available on each of the X-Cel focal lengths. Threaded barrels accept 1-1/4" Celestron thread-in filters.

Review Tele Vue Bandmate Mars Type A 1.25" Filter. / Tele Vue:

Traditionally, standard colored filters have been used to bring out detail on the planet's surface. The main drawback is the artificial color imposed on all planetary features. Bandmate Mars Type-A Filters We all know you can't have your cake and eat it too, but the Bandmate Mars Type-A lets you at least have a good taste! The Type-A is a dual band filter with different dielectric coatings on each side of the substrate. The dual band nature of the filter permits green and red through while rejecting all other visible colors. The effect is to enhance detail on the Martian surface while preserving the natural color of the polar caps and rest of the surface. Since this filter provides a most natural view, it is highly recommended for public viewing.

Review Paracorr Photo Lens Assembly for T-ring / Tele Vue PLA2001:

An optical chain is as good as its weakest link. With the development of 82 degree Nagler eyepieces, Tele Vue offers the largest, flattest and best corrected visual fields in the industry. Combine the Nagler revolution, Dobsonian revolution and Paracorr for the ideal mating for spectacular wide and sharp "spacewalk" observing. Coma makes stars look like blurry comets whose tails point out radially from the center of the field. The faster your scope's speed, the worse the effect. All parabolic mirrors used in Newtonian reflecting telescopes are limited in field sharpness due to coma. Even a perfectly made 13" f/4. 5 parabola has only about 0. 1 degree diffraction limited field. Previous attempts to correct for coma have been limited in usefulness. [+]
Some correctors were designed mainly for astrophotography. Dedicated coma correcting eyepieces were another approach. However, these were limited to 50 degree apparent fields and would orphan your existing eyepiece collection. Paracorr is a universal corrector that tightens and intensifies starimages on all f-ratios from f/3. 5 to f/8 without adding any false color or spherical aberration! You no longer have to constantly shift a Dobsonian to keep objects centered for sharp viewing. Using a Tele Vue eyepiece, put M-13 at the edge of the field and enjoy resolving its beauty as it drifts across your view. Paracorr is recommended for use with all Tele Vue eyepieces because our Plossls, Wide Fields, Panoptics, an.
